Baked Ham in Bread Dough with Horseradish Sauce

A great traditional dish that can be found on the table on various occasions, not just for Easter

Ingredients

Smoked Ham

1 kg

white flour

500 g

water

300 g

fresh yeast

7 g

salt

8 g

butter

40 g

eggs

In a bowl, mix well the flour, water, yeast and salt.

Add the softened butter and egg yolk and knead a smooth dough. Let the dough rise in a covered bowl for 6-8 hours.

Roll out the yeast dough on a floured surface and roll it out into a layer about 2 cm thick.

Sprinkle it with beaten egg and wrap the ham well. Place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper so that the contact of the dough is facing down.

Line the dough with a beaten egg and make a few small holes with a toothpick.

Bake for about 45 minutes at 200°C until the crust has a nice golden color; in the meantime prepare the horseradish sauce.

Peel horseradish and apple and finely grate them. Add sour cream, salt and pepper and mix well.
